By the time a project shows up on a bid list, the decisions are made. The builder has a lender, a site, and usually a supplier. The work that mattered happened when the permit was filed — and permits are public the day they're issued. County Permit Reports is the layer between “public” and “usable.”
Every month we pull building permits from every municipal and county office across the greater Indianapolis metro, reconcile them against each source's own published totals, and hand you three things.
What was filed, where, and by whom. September 2026 went out as four files: 543 new-home permits, 241 commercial, 587 remodel, 84 pool.
What the count means. Most new-home volume is not concentrated in the handful of national builders everyone already calls — it is spread across scores of smaller names. The obvious list is not the opportunity. We tell you which is which.
Who to call this week, and why now.

Greater Indianapolis, September 2026, as delivered: 543 new-home permits, 241 commercial, 587 remodel, 84 pool. Each number is the row count of a file we shipped.
Those are either the right numbers or they aren't, and they came from the same public records you can pull yourself. We'd rather be checkable than impressive. Anybody can claim they have construction data. Fewer can tell you what was in it last month without looking it up.
We've run this every month since March 2026 — greater-Indianapolis permit records, every month reconciled against the issuing office's own count before it ships.
Shared leads get sold to eight contractors and the segment gets burned. We don't sell the same permit to your competitor as a “lead” — we tell you what's happening in your market and let you decide who's worth a call.
When a source doesn't publish a builder name, the field is blank. A blank is honest; a plausible wrong answer costs you a phone call and your credibility.
